The station is part of American History. During World War I, General Pershing in France communicated with the US Government through this cable station.

In 1927 the message that Charles Lindbergh had landed in Paris came through this station from Paris. It was then sent to the rest of the United States.

Free guided tours are available of a historic collection of original Atlantic undersea telegraphic cables, instruments, maps, and assorted memorabilia.

Monomoy Island National Wildlife Refuge is a federal wildlife refuge located on Monomoy Island in Massachusetts. It was taken over by the US government just before World War II.

This is a wonderful place to walk and learn about Monomoy refuge. There is a small visitor's center with children's activities and an opportunity to learn about the seals and wildlife.

Their offseason hours are M-F 10am-2pm contingent on volunteer availability. They have five threatened or endangered species, largest grey seal haul-out in the US and historic Monomoy Lighthouse.

The Cape Cod Rail Trail follows a former railroad right-of-way for 22 miles through the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, and Wellfleet. Its paved surface, few hills, and well-marked automobile crossings make it ideal for cyclists. The trail has a wide unpaved shoulder on one side to accommodate horseback riding, walkers, and runners.
