Some come to the surface and poke out their heads as if to say "aloha,” while others gracefully drift below your kayak. The Shaka Kayaks Sea Turtle Tour promises its guests the exciting experience of spotting a honu (the Hawaiian word for sea turtle) every single day. “We currently have two dozen resident green sea turtles in Kawela Bay” said Captain Scott Sundby, owner of Shaka Kayaks. Kayaking with sea turtle excursions are available in the morning and at sunset.

Their knowledgeable guides will share the rich history and traditions that have shaped the region, fostering an appreciation for the cultural heritage ingrained with many crops you will see in the model farm and “Piko” area. As you traverse through the circular model farm you will learn about chef-choice products for local use and consumption as well as important native and medicinal plants.
